Description:
This program enhances acting abilities by working one-on-one with a director. Class activities include an introduction to the camera, scene rehearsals, screen tests and filming in a multi-camera studio. Through Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), the course spans 105 hours of class contact time and includes skills-based classes in voice, movement, improvisation and acting. Emphasis is given to contemporary Australian work, with explorations of current trends in Australian film-making. Possibilities include a screen test with leading casting directors and participation in an on-location "shoot" in Australia's "Hollywood". Opportunities are available to participate in recreational /adventure weekends in the Blue Mountains, an Aboriginal dance celebration and a vist to the Great Barrier Reef.
