Description:
The areas addressed by the program are: World Energy (energy as a derived demand), Energy and Environmental Implications (energy and emissions), Energy and Transport (consumption of transport modes), Energy and the Built Environment (energy uses in buildings, thermal comfort and design), Energy Storage (electrochemical, chemical and thermal), Solar Thermal Applications (collectors and their performance), Photovoltaic Devices and Systems (solar cells, cell properties and design), Biomass and Liquid Fuels (combustible fuels), Energy Management (an examination of energy and fuel terminology and concepts). Travels to the outback for real-life implications, examining the Vanadium redox flow battery, solar powered car and other experiments at the UNSW experimental testing facility at Little Bay are planned.
