This course will examine the origins and history surrounding Australia's Aboriginal people from archaelological and "Dreamtime" perspectives. The parts played by Australian archaeology and anthropology in the development and understanding of the evolution of humans in general will be explored. Students will spend time in the "bush" learning from Aboriginal Australians about their traditional relationships with their natural environment and will spend a weekend camping with a rural Aboriginal community and participating in their daily lifestyle.
