Description:
Participants will have the following options on this program: Australian Ecology for Biology Majors - including field studies in rainforest, open woodland and coral reefs; Australian Ecology for Non-Biology Majors; and Environment and Culture: The Aborigine and European in Australia - which examines ways in which cultures interact with their environments. Students in all courses will participate in the same field studies, lectures and tours, but have work assigned that reflect their training and interests. They will maintain daily journals, and submit intermittent reports and a final report. Studies will be done in World Heritage Areas where over 200 species of bird, salt water crocodiles and Aboriginal rock art will be examined.
